Sara was born and raised on Lummi Island and living in a small town, there wasn't much to do on those rainy days. I guess you could say she's been doing hair since she was five when she would cut and "color" her Barbie's hair and not to mention do make overs on her American Girl dolls. Her mom wasn't too thrilled, so by the time she was 21 she enrolled herself into Toni and Guy hairdressing academy in Bellingham, Washington (in 2010) where she began to transform my Barbie creations into real life.
She then moved to Austin, Texas to fulfill her dreams. Sara had a jammed packed schedule in Austin and was behind the chair in austin for 8 years. Sara also got her other dream job of being an educator. She travels around the untied states and educates salons on the wonderful product line, R+Co. This product line is vegan, sulfate free, paraben free, color sage, and is perfect for everyone. She is very passionate about the product line and would love to chat with you about it!
Sara then made the decision to move back to Washington with her family and her son in June of 2019. She worked in a beautiful salon in downtown Bellingham then moved to her own salon suite.
She recently welcomed another addition to the family in June 2021 and married the love of her life shortly after in February 2022! Since the birth of her second son, Sara has opened her own salon with her amazing business partner and they are turning their dreams into a reality.
Sara considers herself so lucky to wake up every morning knowing that she has a job that she absolutely loves and being surrounded by other amazing hairstylists. She loves the one on one time with her clients and is constantly learning something new, not just about styling, but about her clients and their life.
Lauren grew up in Whatcom county on a potato farm in Sumas. After moving to Seattle as a young person she realized that she desired the quieter life she grew up with and decided to settle down close to family in 2015. She now lives in a small home in Birch Bay with her darling husband and three dogs. She spends her free time with various craft and diy projects, rug tufting, bird watching, thrifting, traveling, tending her many house plants and outdoor garden, reading and enjoying the company of family and friends, preferably at a good brunch.
Her career in hairdressing indulges her creative side while allowing her to develop unique relationships with so many different types of people. She has explored many facets of beauty and hairdressing since being licensed in 2010 by teaching at a beauty school, working as an educator and assistant artist with the scruples color line, and working various salons before opening her first salon suite in 2019. She loves working with blondes, low maintenance styles, curly hair, short cuts and excels at creative coloring, even earning her a finalist position in matrix color contest. Opening Wild Hare Beauty alongside her business partner and creating a dream space for her clients has been the highlight of her career thus far.
